Prompt: Pitch or create software (website, app, etc) that addresses an issue in first generation low income students such as: financial planning, career opportunities, mental health, community building, or an issue found/experienced in your community.

The hackathon will have seperate beginner no code and programming categories, so beginners have a high chance of winning!

Our Goal

At Project: Empower, our vision is to solve problems in underprivileged communities and high school students through code. Through this hackathon, we wish to help aspiring programmers foster there passion for coding and allow them to realize the impact that they can make through programming.

How it Works

Empower Hacks 2.0 is a hackathon hosted by Project: Empower, a student run non profit organization. It will consist of 3 steps the kickoff meeting, development period, and judging period/closing ceremony. Participants will develop a software project in there teams following the prompt that is given.

1. Sign up / Kickoff

Join our discord server and go to #sign-up and give yourself the Hackathon role. Then, fill out our registration form.

2. Development

Build your app within the allotted timeslot!

3. Judging

Get judging feedback from our experienced judges!

 

Requirements

Submission requirements will be explained during opening session. Cross submission is allowed as long as it fits the theme and was developed during the timeslot of this event. Please be careful about abiding to other events regulations.
